25 Years of Saltatio Mortis: That's what the band is celebrating this year! Hard to believe it’s already two and a half decades since the minstrels first came together. And even more remarkable that they were now able to celebrate this meaningful anniversary as a headliner at one of the biggest metal festivals in Europe! With their 25th Anniversary Show at Wacken Open Air 2025, Alea and co. absolutely captivated the crowd and played a ton of song highlights from their extensive discography. We’ve listed the full setlist for you below!
From “Spielmannsschwur” to “Finsterwacht”: The Set from Wacken 2025
The full Saltatio Mortis package could be experienced on July 30 on Wacken’s Holy Ground. Because when you celebrate an anniversary, you of course bring along song material from the early days as well as new creations. Fans witnessed a unique, high-energy performance, opened by the title track of their 2024 album Finsterwacht and closed with the traditional "Spielmannsschwur". In between, their songs told one story after another — from "Loki" to "Satans Fall", with exuberant anthems like "Grosse Träume" and even more exuberant covers like "Hypa Hypa" by Electric Callboy.
