Not many bands can claim to be as influential as Mercyful Fate. As one of the early purveyors of true metal, the band's impact is felt far and wide; from the new wave of black metals' Cradle Of Filth and Dimmu Borgir to international metal gods Megadeth and Metallica.

Mercyful Fate's seventh studio album '9' was released in 1999. Continuing the band's signature occult themes with a heavier, more aggressive, and direct sound, blending their classic melodic style with increased brutality. Featuring tracks like "Sold My Soul", "Burn in Hell", and "Kiss the Demon". '9' would serve as the band's final studio album for 20 years before their 2019 reunion.
